Dreamy Oregon Coast Couples Session - Hug Point

I’ll never get over how well everything aligned for this photo shoot. Anni and Gabe live in Utah, but found me via TikTok, and we ended up photographing their engagement session in Oregon. They had found a few photos I’ve taken in Oregon and were so inspired by it, they wanted to create something with a similar vibe.

We wanted rays of light peeking through trees. Fairy forest vibes. A little moody. A little ethereal. I knew a lot of our results might be weather dependent and encouraged Anni and Gabe to be flexible with the weather. We just needed some sunlight to peak through amidst the foggy forecast. The day before, I checked the forecast again and decided we should shift towards photographing closer to 4pm to get some sunshine. This equated to the most beautiful golden hour in the forest. The light peaked through the trees and we had the dreamiest areas to work with. Photographing feels quite easy when everything feels this beautiful. After photographing at the trail, we headed over to Hug point, which was about a 5 minute drive away. If you ever go to Hug point, make sure to check the tide online. If the tide is too high, it can be difficult to navigate and get to some of the more scenic areas.

It was so magical to see the vision I had in my head unfold. From location scouting to digging up inspo online, to timing our session to get the most ideal lighting situation, everything felt to be aligning in the best way. I had so much fun photographing in Oregon and can’t wait to go back again and again. It is always such an inspiring place.
